History & facts : Entered service in 1974, Airbus A300 was the first airliner developed by Airbus. Airbus itself is a consortium consist of EADS of Dutch, Aerospatiale of France, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace of Germany, CASA of Spain and British Aerospace of UK. The project started in 1969 to develop a 300 passengers twin engined medium range 'air bus'. A300 then got in close competition with Boeing 767.
